Privacy Policy
Last updated October 10, 2026.
1. ABOUT THIS POLICY
This policy explains what personal information YUBI collects about you, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because a policy you can't understand isn't really telling you anything.
YUBI, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("YUBI," "we," "us," or "our"), operates the website at helloyubi.com. This policy applies to that website, to our email and text message programs, to our customer service communications, and to our pages on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok — though those platforms also apply their own policies, which we don't control.
YUBI sells and ships within the United States only. This policy is written for U.S. residents. If you're visiting from outside the United States, understand that your information will be processed in the U.S., where privacy protections may differ from those in your home country.
This policy does not cover information you give to other companies, including payment processors who handle your card details and shipping carriers who deliver your orders. It also doesn't cover job applications.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
What we collect depends on how you interact with us. Browsing the site anonymously gives us far less than placing an order does.
|
Category |
What it includes |
|
Contact and identity information |
Name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give us one |
|
Order information |
Products purchased, considered, or left in your cart; order history; returns and exchanges; gift messages |
|
Payment information |
Billing address and the last four digits and expiration date of your card. We never receive or store your full card number — our payment processor handles that directly |
|
Account information |
Username, password (stored encrypted), saved addresses, saved preferences |
|
Device and online activity |
IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time spent, links clicked, and identifiers stored in cookies |
|
Content you post |
Product reviews, ratings, photos, and any other content you submit publicly |
|
Communications |
Emails, texts, direct messages, customer service inquiries, and survey responses |
|
Marketing engagement |
Whether you opened an email, clicked a link, or responded to an ad |
|
Inferences |
Conclusions we draw from the above, such as which product categories you seem interested in |
Sensitive information. YUBI does not collect government ID numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or health information. We do not ask for your skin conditions, allergies, or medications. We do not collect information about your race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or union membership, and we do not try to infer those characteristics about you.
If we ever add a feature that collects sensitive information — a skin diagnostic quiz, for example — we will update this policy and tell you before it starts.
3. HOW WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION
Directly from you. When you place an order, create an account, sign up for emails or texts, write a review, enter a giveaway, respond to a survey, or contact customer service.
Automatically, as you use the site. When you visit helloyubi.com, cookies and similar technologies record information about your device and what you do on the site. Our emails also contain small tracking pixels that tell us whether a message was opened and which links were clicked. Section 4 explains this in more detail and tells you how to turn it off.
From companies that work for us. Our e-commerce platform, payment processor, shipping carriers, email and text message provider, and analytics tools all pass information back to us in the course of doing their jobs — order confirmations, delivery status, failed payments, bounced emails.
From social media platforms. If you follow us, comment on our posts, message us, or click one of our ads on Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok, those platforms may share aggregated or limited information with us depending on your privacy settings on each platform. We see far less than people usually assume: typically engagement counts and audience summaries rather than individual profiles.
We do not buy personal information from data brokers, and we do not append purchased demographic data to your account.
4. COOKIES AND ONLINE TRACKING
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Pixels are tiny invisible images embedded in pages and emails. Both are used to recognize your browser and record what it does. We group ours into three categories.
|
Type |
What it does |
Can you turn it off? |
|
Strictly necessary |
Keeps you logged in, remembers your cart, processes checkout, protects against fraud |
No — the site won't work without these |
|
Analytics |
Tells us which pages people visit, where they drop off, and what's slow or broken |
Yes |
|
Advertising |
Lets us show you YUBI ads on other platforms and measure whether those ads led to purchases |
Yes |
The advertising partners we use. These companies place their own cookies and pixels on our site and receive information about your activity:
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — ad targeting, retargeting people who viewed products, and measuring ad performance
- TikTok — the same functions on TikTok
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads) — site analytics, ad targeting, and conversion measurement
- YouTube — embedded videos on our site set cookies from YouTube even if you don't press play
- Our email and text platform — open and click tracking in messages we send you
Each of these companies uses the information it receives for its own purposes too, under its own privacy policy. We'd encourage you to read them; they're more consequential than ours.
How to turn off analytics and advertising cookies
- Visit Your Privacy Choices to set your preferences directly. The link is also in our site footer on every page.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in a supported browser or extension. We treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out request automatically, with no form to fill in. You'll need to enable it in each browser you use.
- Opt out at the platform level through Google's Analytics opt-out add-on and your Google ad settings, or through the ad preference settings inside Meta and TikTok.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. This is the bluntest option and may break parts of the site.
An opt-out applies to the specific browser and device where you set it. If you clear your cookies, you may need to set it again — an irritating limitation of how the technology works, not a trick.
5. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Filling your orders. Processing payment, confirming the order, shipping it, handling returns and exchanges, and sending you updates along the way. These messages aren't marketing and you can't unsubscribe from them while an order is open.
Running your account. Creating and maintaining your profile, saving your addresses and preferences, and letting you see past orders.
Customer service. Answering your questions, resolving problems, and following up.
Marketing. Sending you emails and texts you've signed up for, showing you YUBI ads on social platforms, running giveaways and promotions, and measuring whether any of it works.
Improving the business. Understanding which products people like, which pages confuse people, where checkout breaks, and what to stock next.
Security and fraud prevention. Detecting fraudulent orders, protecting accounts from unauthorized access, and investigating suspicious activity.
Legal compliance. Keeping tax and transaction records, responding to lawful requests, enforcing our Terms of Use, and defending legal claims.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
6. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information for money. We have never done so and have no plans to. However, our use of advertising cookies may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some state privacy laws, which define those terms far more broadly than an ordinary person would. Section 7 explains this and how to opt out.
We share information in these circumstances and no others:
Service providers. Companies that perform work on our behalf and are contractually limited to using your information only for that work: our e-commerce platform, payment processor, shipping carriers, email and text message platform, customer service tools, review platform, analytics providers, and fraud prevention services.
Advertising and analytics partners. Meta, TikTok, and Google receive information about your activity on our site through the cookies and pixels described in Section 4. Unlike our service providers, these companies may use that information for their own purposes.
When you post publicly. Reviews, ratings, and photos you submit are visible to anyone who visits the site. See Section 10.
Legal process. If we receive a subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful demand, we may disclose information as required. We may also disclose information to investigate fraud, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect the rights and safety of YUBI, our customers, or the public.
Business transfers. If YUBI is acquired, merges with another company, raises financing that requires it, or sells substantially all of its assets, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction. We would require the recipient to honor this policy or give you notice and a choice before materially changing it.
With your direction. If you ask us to share your information with someone else, we will.
We do not share your email or phone number with other companies for their own marketing. We do not share text message consent with anyone for their marketing purposes, ever.
7. INTEREST-BASED ADVERTISING AND YOUR OPT-OUT
When you browse YUBI and later see a YUBI ad on Instagram or TikTok, that's interest-based advertising. It works because our advertising pixels pass identifiers about your browser to those platforms.
Under California, Colorado, Connecticut, and several other state privacy laws, passing identifiers to an advertising platform that uses them for its own purposes can qualify as a "sale" or "share" of personal information, or as "targeted advertising," even though no money changes hands. We'd rather tell you this directly than hide behind the technicality that we aren't paid for it.
The categories involved in this activity: device and online identifiers, internet activity on our site, and commercial information about products you viewed or purchased.
Who receives them: Meta, TikTok, and Google.
How to stop it:
- Visit Your Privacy Choices, linked in our site footer
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honor it automatically as a valid opt-out
- Email us at joy@helloyubi.com with "Opt out of targeted advertising" in the subject line
Opting out will not stop you from seeing YUBI ads entirely. It stops those ads from being targeted based on your activity. You'll still see our ads the way anyone else might.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
We will never charge you more, give you worse service, or deny you products because you exercised a privacy right. That's both our policy and the law.
8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Twenty U.S. states now have comprehensive privacy laws, and which rights you have technically depends on where you live. Rather than make you work out whether your state qualifies, YUBI extends the rights below to every customer, in every state.
|
Right |
What it means |
|
Know |
Ask what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, why we have it, and who we've shared it with |
|
Access |
Get a copy of your information in a portable format |
|
Correct |
Fix information that's wrong or out of date |
|
Delete |
Ask us to delete your information, subject to the exceptions below |
|
Opt out |
Stop targeted advertising and any activity that counts as a sale or share (Section 7) |
|
Non-discrimination |
Exercise any of these without being penalized |
|
Appeal |
Ask us to reconsider if we decline your request |
How to make a request. Email joy@helloyubi.com with the right you're exercising in the subject line, or use our contact page. You don't need any special form or language.
How we verify it's you. We'll ask you to confirm the request from the email address on your account, and we may ask you to confirm details only you would know, such as a recent order. For deletion requests we verify more carefully, since wrongly deleting someone's account is itself a harm. We won't ask for a government ID or any sensitive document — if someone claiming to be us does, it isn't us.
How long we take. We'll acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days. If we need more time we'll tell you why before the 45 days are up, and take no more than 45 additional days.
When we may decline. We may keep information we need to complete a transaction you requested, detect and prevent fraud, comply with tax and accounting obligations, or establish or defend a legal claim. If we decline any part of your request we'll tell you specifically which part and why, and you can appeal by replying to our response. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
Authorized agents. You may designate someone to make a request for you. We'll ask for written proof of their authority and may still verify your identity directly.
One more thing worth knowing. Deleting your account does not automatically pull back information already shared with advertising platforms. If that matters to you, opt out under Section 7 and request deletion — and we'd suggest doing the opt-out first.
9. MARKETING EMAILS AND TEXT MESSAGES
Email. We send marketing emails only to people who signed up. Every one has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and we honor it promptly. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop order confirmations and shipping updates — those are part of fulfilling your order.
Text messages. We send marketing texts only with your express written consent, given separately from any purchase. Signing up for texts is never a condition of buying anything.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out
- Reply HELP for assistance, or email joy@helloyubi.com
- Message frequency varies
- Message and data rates may apply from your carrier
- Opting out of one program doesn't opt you out of others
We do not share your phone number or your text message consent with anyone for their own marketing. This is a firm commitment, not a courtesy.
10. REVIEWS, PHOTOS, AND PUBLIC CONTENT
When you post a review, rating, or photo on our site, it becomes publicly visible along with whatever display name you chose. Please don't include anything in a review you wouldn't want public — your address, phone number, or order number, for instance.
By posting content, you give YUBI permission to display, reproduce, and adapt it in connection with our business, including in marketing and on our social media accounts. You keep ownership of what you post.
You can ask us to remove your content by emailing joy@helloyubi.com. We'll take it down from our site. We can't guarantee complete removal everywhere, since content that's been reposted, screenshotted, cached by search engines, or shared by others is outside our control. That's a genuine limit, not an excuse — it's worth factoring into what you choose to post.
11. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
We use encryption in transit, restrict access to customer data to the small number of people who need it, rely on established vendors for payment processing and hosting, and require passwords on accounts. Your full payment card number never reaches our systems.
No security is perfect, and we won't claim otherwise. Any company that promises your data is completely safe is overpromising. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by the law of your state.
You play a part too: use a password you don't use anywhere else, don't share your account, and sign out on shared devices. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, email us right away.
12. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, unless a law requires us to keep it longer.
|
Information |
How long |
|
Order and transaction records |
At least 7 years, for tax and accounting requirements |
|
Account information |
While your account is open, plus a short period after you close it |
|
Marketing contact details |
Until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record so we don't contact you again by mistake |
|
Cookie and analytics data |
Typically up to 24 months, depending on the tool |
|
Customer service correspondence |
Up to 3 years |
|
Reviews and public content |
Until you or we remove it |
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or strip out anything that identifies you.
Note the suppression record above: when you unsubscribe, we have to retain your email address precisely so we can avoid emailing it. Deleting it entirely would risk adding you back the next time you ordered.
13. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
YUBI's site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 for targeted advertising.
If we learn that we've collected information from someone under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we'll delete it. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us information, email joy@helloyubi.com and we'll remove it.
If you're a California resident under 18 and registered on our site, you can ask us to remove content you've posted. See Section 17.
14. OTHER SITES AND OUR SOCIAL MEDIA
Our site links to other websites, and we're active on several platforms:
- Instagram: @helloyubi
- TikTok: @hello.yubi
- YouTube: @hello_yubi
When you interact with us on those platforms, the platform's own privacy policy governs what it collects about you — not ours. We can see public interactions and whatever the platform chooses to show us, but we don't control their data practices and can't change their settings for you.
If you send us a direct message on any platform, we may keep a record of it to provide customer service.
We're not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to. Worth a look at their policies before you share anything with them.
15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We'll update this policy as YUBI grows and as the law changes. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
For minor changes — clarified wording, a new service provider in an existing category — we'll post the updated policy and change the date. For changes that materially affect your privacy, such as collecting a new category of information or sharing it with a new type of recipient, we'll give you advance notice by email or a prominent notice on the site before the change takes effect.
Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy. If you don't agree with a change, you can close your account and ask us to delete your information under Section 8.
16. CONTACT US
Questions, concerns, or a privacy request — reach us any of these ways:
Email: joy@helloyubi.com
Contact form: helloyubi.com/pages/contact
Mail: YUBI, LLC [MAILING ADDRESS]
We read every message and aim to reply within 10 business days. For formal privacy rights requests, the timeline in Section 8 applies.
If you have a complaint we haven't resolved, you can contact the attorney general's office in your state. We'd much rather hear from you first and fix it ourselves.
17. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS
This section supplements the rest of the policy for California residents.
Our current status. The California Consumer Privacy Act applies to businesses meeting at least one of three thresholds: annual gross revenue above $26,625,000, buying/selling/sharing the personal information of 100,000 or more California consumers or households per year, or deriving 50% or more of revenue from selling or sharing personal information. YUBI does not currently meet any of them. We extend CCPA rights to you voluntarily, and we will keep doing so as we grow.
Categories we collect, and who receives them. Sections 2 and 6 describe this in full. In the CCPA's own vocabulary:
|
Category collected |
Disclosed to |
|
Identifiers (name, email, address, IP, account ID) |
Service providers, advertising and analytics partners |
|
Customer records (name, address, payment card details) |
Service providers, payment processors |
|
Commercial information (products bought or viewed) |
Service providers, advertising and analytics partners |
|
Internet activity (browsing and interaction on our site) |
Service providers, advertising and analytics partners |
|
Audio/visual (photos you post in reviews) |
Service providers, our social media platforms |
|
Inferences (interests drawn from your activity) |
Service providers, advertising and analytics partners |
We collect these for the business purposes in Section 5 and retain them per Section 12. We do not collect sensitive personal information as the CCPA defines it, so the right to limit its use does not arise.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code § 1798.83 lets you request details about personal information disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing. YUBI does not make such disclosures, so there is nothing to report — but you may request written confirmation of that by emailing joy@helloyubi.com with "Shine the Light" in the subject line.
Eraser button. If you're a California resident under 18 and a registered user, you can ask us to remove content you posted publicly on our site. Email joy@helloyubi.com. As noted in Section 10, removal from our site can't reach copies made elsewhere.
Request metrics. Businesses handling the personal information of 10 million or more Californians must publish annual request statistics. YUBI falls far below that threshold and does not publish metrics.
Notice of financial incentive. YUBI does not currently operate a loyalty or rewards program. If we launch one, we'll publish the required notice describing the benefits, how to join and withdraw, and our good-faith estimate of the value of the information involved.
