Core active is the 5-ceramide complex (NP/NS/AS/EOP/AP) immediately followed by Stearic Acid and Cholesterol — this is a deliberate reconstruction of the Elias/Man physiologic lipid triad (ceramide:cholesterol:fatty acid), not a random assortment. Disclosed concentration ranges put the ceramides at roughly 0.35–1.30% each, ~2.65–5.3% combined — a real dosing tier, not trace. Humectants (Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Trehalose) sit after Cholesterol, so they're supporting cast, not the main hydration mechanism — the occlusive base does the actual work here.

• Polyisobutene, Petrolatum — Worth having. Petrolatum's TEWL-reduction and barrier-repair effect is one of the best-established findings in dermatology (Ghadially et al., J Am Acad Dermatol 1992). Base does the heavy lifting here.
• Diisostearyl Malate, Jojoba/Shea/Macadamia/Olive/Baobab — Filler/unremarkable emollients.
• Ceramide NP/NS/AS/EOP/AP + Stearic Acid + Cholesterol — Worth having, core active. Ceramide-cholesterol-fatty acid mixtures at a ceramide-dominant ratio accelerate barrier recovery vs. single- or double-lipid mixtures, per repeated human/murine work (Man et al., J Invest Dermatol 1996; Zettersten et al., J Am Acad Dermatol 1997; Elias et al., J Glob Health 2022).
• Sodium Hyaluronate — Worth having but minor contributor at this position (post-Cholesterol, likely sub-1%); solid humectant literature generally, just not the star here.
• Panthenol — Worth having. RCT support for barrier/hydration/soothing is strong and recent (Zhang et al., J Cosmet Dermatol 2024, n=177; Gao et al., J Cosmet Dermatol 2025 double-blind RCT post-laser).
• Sargassum Fusiforme (Hizikia Fusiforme) Extract — Gimmick. Position 23/28 puts this at trace level. Existing research — antioxidant/anti-melanogenic effects, PM-induced oxidative stress protection — is entirely in vitro (human dermal fibroblasts, B16F10 melanoma cells, keratinocyte models); zero human clinical trials at any concentration. No published efficacy data exists for this ingredient in a leave-on trace-dose lip product.
